What Can I Expect from An Appendectomy?
Prior to your appendectomy, we will give you anesthesia to help you remain comfortable. We will make several small incisions in your abdomen in order to pass our surgical tools into your abdominal cavity. From there, we'll remove the appendix and close the incisions. You can expect some soreness for the first few days following your appendectomy. You should be able to resume your normal routine after about two weeks of recovery. We will send you home with recovery instructions so you know what you can expect while recovering. We'll also schedule a post-op appointment to check in on your recovery process and make sure you're healing properly. What Are the Symptoms of Appendicitis?
Symptoms of appendicitis include:
- Stomach pain, typically in the lower right of the abdomen
